This class is designed to introduce students (aged 8 to 13) to the basics of computer programming using an intuitive and beginner-friendly platform called Scratch. This class emphasizes creativity, collaboration and communication while helping students discover the world for software development. In this 8 week class, students will explore all the major features of this programming language as they work individually and in teams to create games and animations. At the end of this class, students will be ready to begin exploring other areas of technology and computer programming and they will have the knowledge and skill to continue creating projects independently at home.

REQUIRED MATERIALS:
Each student should bring their own laptop that is capable of connecting to a network via WiFi and which has a basic Internet Browser (either Chrome, Firefox or Edge).
There are limited loaner laptops available by request only.
